I currently use API Master test kit for fresh and salt water, and they’re okay. I’m mostly concerned about ammonia readings— the API Reef Master kit doesn’t have anything to detect ammonia, so for my tank I’ve been using the freshwater version. It’s subpar at best and if you guys have any suggestions, I would love to hear them.

The API kits are probably the lowest quality kits out there in terms of precision and accuracy. Red sea kits are good, salifert is also good. You really don't need to test for ammonia once your aquarium is cycled.

The API ammonia is for salt and fresh, they just have two different color charts..
