Boyd's Vita Chem question

Good morning all, SO I have used Selcon many times in the past, but was thinking about giving Vita Chem a try. I see where they recommend adding it straight to the tank. Does anyone here do this? if so, do you leave all filtration / activated carbon running?

I use it with selcon but I mix it in with frozen food and broadcast feed.
