After a year and a half of planning and waiting for my house to sell, it's all starting to come together. We have moving into our new house and my tank should be here in the next week or two.

I put my order in for a 270 gallon (72x36x24) 3 sided Starphire glass to be built by Miracles in Glass.

The tank designed as followed:
270 gallon (72x36x24) 3 sided Starphire glass

4 1/2†Eurobracing

Trimless

One internal overflow:
(2) 1 ½†bulkhead for drain and (1) 1†bulkhead for return

black vinyl back applied to exterior of back panel and black silicone.

The the shaded lines are bracing for the frame of the stand.

With every new house there is a tank to move. Currently my 90 gal tank sits empty (besides a few fish). Thanks to a few good friends, Scott (tanglovers) and Nick (mayran), I will not have to worry about my fish and corals until the new tank is up and cycled.

Here are some of my corals that I moved into Nick's 90 frag tank. I think there are over 90 different corals he has of mine. Thanks again!

... and the rest that went to Scott's house along with all my angels. Thanks!

Well it seems that every build has an equipment shoot, so here's mine.

Here is where the tank will sit once I receive it. Some of the equipment is sitting in it place for now.

i have a question, what's that rather large, roundish fury piece of equipment on the left hand corner and are you sure it's "reef safe"? lol

I like those dimensions on the DT, enough room for corals to grow.

Thats nice :D

Archery?

No, I got that opening day of fire arms. That year was the first year I didn't get one with my bow. But to make up for it I shot a nice 7 point an hour later. Plus it was my B-day .

Very nice you will love this tank. I just got done setting up my 270g tank the exact same FP.

Thanks, this has been my dream tank for some time now.

Well I have a little catching up to do, as I have been working on this from a while. Here is the frame to the stand. The face will be removable for easy access if needed.

Here is the finished frame for the tank stand. The inside was painted white with oil-base (4 coats) paint and SPAR urethane for the outside (6-7 coats). Still need to make the face for the stand and canopy.

Skimmer and Ca reactor for size reference .

Here is the "light rail" that I will be using to hang my lights. I seen the idea in Lightsluvr build. It's pocket door hanger from McMaster-Carr. It rated for 150 lb doors and comes with the wheels.

There are two 6' rails. I will be only using one and will be cutting it to 5' so I can drop the reflector and remove it out the side to the canopy.

IMG_1151.jpg

The wheels come with a door hanger bolt, which I replace with a normal bolt. There is a washer on each side of the reflector and a nut on the top side of the reflector. The nut allows space so that the reflector doesn't rub on the rail.

IMG_1153.jpg

The reflector still tilts a bit, but I think I will able to solve it. Here is the reflector on with wheels on the rail.

Here is the frame work of the canopy. There will be four doors in the front, two for each opening. The canopy and stand will be covered in black laminate.

IMG_1172.jpg

The side also open up with a push door. There are hings inside that hold the door in place.

IMG_1168.jpg

IMG_1164.jpg

I have a 1 3/4" strip finishing the facing the front corner so that I can add a finish edge to the front pane. This will be finished with 1 3/4" laminate band striping ( the stuff they face the bottom of counter tops).
