Currently waiting for some rodi to fill up then I'll start mixing saltwater. I got dry rock. It is currently soaking.

Thank you! Today I filled the tank up with salt water. I've been working to silence some spots down. I seem to be getting big bubbles down in sump from the overflow drain. I'm not sure what to do to adjust this. Also there's water running into the overflow around the return line. I was thinking some marine epoxy puddy would seal that up.

I wouldn't worry about the water flowing into the overflow under the return lines. Put up some pics of the plumbing and overflow set up and we could help diagnose and fix your bubble issue.

I have the same tank. Turn your return pipe elbow around so the tube is on the down tube side. Should stop the gurgling and air bubbles. The big tube. :)

Turned that drain elbow around. I think it helped a little bit. It's not as loud but still some bubbles. Not a huge deal.

For the time being I put some filter floss around the return to stop the loud trickle. I'll replace it with something more permanent soon.

I'll update the first post to include equipment.

Ok so I do not see a way to edit the first post. So here is the equipment list.

90 display tank w/ corner overflow
30 gallon sump tank
60 lbs of sand currently
2 - 150w jager heaters
Brs rodi unit
Bubble magus curve 7 skimmer
Quiet one 3000 return pump
3- kessil a160we w/ controller and goose necks
Vortech mp40QD
Tunze ato
Pan world 40px mixing station pump

Plumbed mixing station to hook up to a vinyl tube for pumping up fresh saltwater. No buckets here! Also lined the inside of stand. If the sump should ever over flow I should be covered to hold probably another 10 gallons inside the stand.

I know what that is it's the anti siphon hole for the return. Drove me nuts and I did the same thing. I move the flex returns and drilled a new anti siphon hole and blocked the original.

photo of what I did have the flex blowing behind my rock but most importantly have a new anti siphon hole that doesn't make noise.

Well the dust has settled and the cycle has begun!

Might tweak the rock on the right around and shift a little more sand around but I think I'm happy with it.

Did a test today. I think I might have ammonia too high but I'm getting some nitrites so maybe see how it plays out?

8.0 ph
8.0ppm ammonia
0.5ppm nitrites
0 nitrates

I picked up a glass top for the tank since the level of water evaporation per day was high.

Retested
8+ Ppm ammonia
2 ppm nitrites
5 ppm nitrates

Day who knows I lost count of cycle.

Ammonia 1.0ppm
Nitrite 5.0ppm
Nitrate about 5.0ppm
Salinity 1.023

I would of expected nitrates to be up higher?

I think the cycle is over? Should I add a little more ammonia or add first fish?
