A few of my zoas have been getting a brown film like algae in them. Every night I have been blowing them off with a turkey blaster in hopes they open up and nothing. I moved them to a higher flow area to see if the powerhead would help and I have seen no progress.

Any other ideas? I have a decent sized colony on a rock that I don’t want to lose.

If your tank is new phos or nitrate may be high after the nitrate cycle ends it usually stays around 0. Alot of algae lessened after I got my skimmer and also algae I'm 3 months into hobby. Ialso recently took out some live rock periodically one at a time sprayed hydrogen peroxide lightly then put back into aquarium after a min or so after. They say dosing vinagar ramp up 5ml 1st wk then 10ml. 2nd Etc. or vodka helps. The peroxide is practical and fast just be careful.
