Okay, so I know this is a dumb question. Same species of fish is difficult, especially when it comes to tangs and then the same genius of tangs is just not good. I get that but hear me out.

I want to add a powder blue tang into my 150 gallon tall tank that has plenty of rock.

Let me know if I can and tips and tricks, thanks.

Fish in tank already:

2x Maroon Clownfish
Harlequin Bass
Green Bird Wrasse
Marine Betta
Sailfin Tang
Two-Spot Bristletooth Tang
Powder Brown Tang

PS: All three of my Tangs are doing wonderfully, just added them a couple weeks ago.

I probably wouldn’t do that. While plenty of rock can be good for dividing up territory, it’s not great from a swimming space perspective. Powder blues tend to be pretty aggressive and in such a small tank the powder brown probably will not be welcomed.

Also just read you’re considering the blue and already have the brown. Too lazy to correct my paragraph above lol. Either way, I still wouldn’t do it

Tank is way too small to attempt that.

Powder blue tangs are beautiful fish, but I agree that adding one would likely end up being a disaster.

As long as there is adequate swimming room, yes and powder brown first as PBT is more aggressive.

I keep PBT with A. japonicus together before without any problem except for the first two weeks. However, my tank was a 420, 10 foot tank full of rock.
I don't think I would try this in a 150 gal tank.
