Hello fish hobbyist. I was wondering if anyone has used anything similar to this as aquarium stand. Or can this this hold 300kg or 60g planted aquarium
I will attach actual picture as well as sketch of its dimension but basically its a 1/2 and 3/4 inch of structure and countertop. The countertop looks like it has framing other than the plywood stand. The vertical plywood is aroung 1/2" and the horizontals one are all 3/4"

It looks more like MDF rather than plywood, but most tanks are on stands made of that stuff so it's probably okay as long as the back is a solid panel that is appropriately attached to the frame.

Personally I wouldn't take the chance, it looks like an old tv stand and its just not built to handle the weight of an aquarium. Or if you do use it, at least reinforce it with some 2x4's.

That was my thoughts, as well, it does not look like it would take too much sideways force, and when you have 300kg sat on top its going to topple over.

If OP is dead set on it, i would recommend loading it with some weights, and gently push against the side, as it will more than likely fall apart.

That looks dead risky! :crying-face: I'd say it's cheaper to buy a better stand than to change the floors. Just have a good think before going ahead with that.

No, those cheap stands usually have a cardboard backing with those tiny finish nails. Might hold 150 to 200 lbs. 600lbs will be a challenge.
My guess is it will start to lean towards the side then the cheap cam lock fasteners will start to pull out from the glue board that is slightly soggy from aquarium water spillage it will be a quick collapse after that....

Maybe I'm wrong...
