To the right is the sump, and to the left is the fug...

You are going to want to seal up the bulkhead that comes with it and use a better one drilled somewhere else. The one that comes with it almost always fails at some point. I found a lot of threads discussing it when I did mine.

100 gallon Rubbermaid for 69.99 at tractor supply. [emoji106]
Yeah we looked at Home Depot and they had nothing. Thank goodness we live in middle of farm country ... More tractor supplies than coffee shops! ( I'm serious)

Have any of you figured a way to surface skim the rubbermaid? I find i have a slight film. Ive added a koralia pump at the surfacr so it slightly sucks air, in hopes that it draw that film into the water.

Is that rock in there just to add filtering boost?

I am going to be using 2 polyethylene tanks for my sump system. They work out great being molded from a single piece and are not that heavy. There are a lot of dealers online for these tanks in all shapes and sizes.

Small power head just slightly above the surface to agitate, works great!

hi! as we'd really like to keep this as simple as possible (and all the plumbing is sort of freaking hubby out) it looks like you are doing both the skimmer and refug in same bin? is that right? we really like the look of this!! not overwhelming to us extreme noobs.
