That's so sad. I think just running carbon will take out the anemone toxins but a good place to ask would be the anemone And clownfish forum down below.

Man. I can't even grasp the frantic and feeling of hoplessness trying 2 save em and praying during. I lost my mandarin pulling my bag of chato out and he was on it and didn't see him till 2 late and cried when u look at them and they look back there's a bond... did u turn ur pump off while getting the nem out? I got a BTA that got shredded in my powerhead but no ill affects 2 fish

Love the theses lights, got them new at coral and fins in tampa, great local shop.

Can't beat Kessil! Their customer service is top notch also. I recently had an issue with one that was three months past warranty and they replaced it for free!

It's hard to believe an anemone did that. I've had one shredded by an Mp10 before with no ill effect. And on a smaller water scale. Yours was 400gallons!
Just out of curiosity, what kind of anemone was it?
Also, any chance you had any kind of harmful residue on your hands before placing them in the water?

Its was a yellow tip anemone and part of it was in the plumbing line so when i turned on the pump it cut it up into thousand piece, it was like explosion of toxic into the water column.

it happen so fast i never had a chance, i netted a few of them out into another tank and did 100 gallon water change within 5 minutes, but i was not able to save any. It was crazy

Update: let the rebuild begin! I performed another major water change and increased my carbon filtration. My goal is to have fish back in the tank by Christmas and somewhat back to normal by Easter Sunday. The resurrection of the Christ of the abyss reef tank has begun.
