Picked up a few frags at Aquashella, along with a new powerhead, some pods, and f-aiptasia.

Thanks, I'd been looking for some King Midas since I lost a colony when I had a crash in a previous setup. I really like them. the monti is getting some white edges. I have had the worst time getting anything but softies to survive in this tank. Its taken 2 years to get coralline to take off, but that's finally starting to happen. Some of the rocks are half covered, other just have small flecks, it seems to prefer the glass.. so hoping some other types of coral will start to take soon.

I've switched the tank over a couple weeks ago from the LEDs I built in 2012 to a Geisseman Infinity fixture. Running a 14k Phoenix on a reef brite ballast. May get the control cord in a couple weeks to be able to dim the halide as the months get warmer. So far the tank is responding well, only running the MH for about 1 and 1/2 hrs a day right now, adding time weekly to let the corals adjust.

The weight of the cords is enough to tip the light back, I have a heatsink from Steve's LEDs that I'm gonna make an actinic bar to have sunset/sunrise period still. So hopefully that will help balance it better.

Enjoying the change so far. Now, if I could just get less bubble algae, and more corals to grow...

Thanks!

I was able to get the club par meter and take some readings. Will post them here this week for posterity, lol.
Nice. Just did mine last month after 6 months of tweaking my scape till I was happy.

Theres a thread to share readings of lights in the lighting forum if u would like to add to r2r's database.
