Coralbox d700+ protein skimmer for large tanks??

Do you guys reckon a coralbox d700+ would actually work for up to 3000 litres?? I'm planning out a 1800 litre with a 400 litre sump and around medium bioload. I'm going full diy everything to save money and I don't want to spend more then $500 NZD ($300 USD) on a skimmer. Also have been looking at the aqua excel and bubble magus curves.
