I just received a ORA dresser clam 4 1/2 inches After acclamation, I found that the clam had a tear in what I would call the mouth that reached to the edge of the shell. I will include pictures. I was wondering if this is something the clam can come back from

I've got a large squamosa clam that has been injured in the past, a tear injury. I left it alone, and it all healed up nicely on its own, but it did take a couple of months. Now there is just a small scar.
