Good day. Just picked up a trio of Prymaid butterflies and have them in the QT. One of the trio have something I can't identify on its left side. Can any assistant in letting me know what this could be. Thanks

It could be a thin fish - or an under skin parasite.

Tough to see, could be an injury. One thing about this species - they almost ALWAYS come in the Neobendenia flukes. While praziquantel has been used to treat that issue, it often fails. I now run these through half salinity quarantine for 35 days, or 12 ppt/1.009 specific gravity if you also want to control marine ich at the same time.

Looks like an injury for sure and likely from netting or being spooked and nicked itself. Should heal on its own but have seachem kanaplex on hand in the event an infection should occur.

It's been about two weeks I have cooper 2.5 and just started general cure process. And planning to qurantine for 30days. Anything else I should be doing. I am thinking of doing a fresh water dip at the end to make sure no flukes are still lingering.
