Hi everyone,

I bought some aquaforte phosfree, ment for pools.
Its 1 liter liquid.

It says 640 grams lanthanum chloride/kg (pr liter)

Have anyone tried this particular product?

How about dosing? I want to start really slow, mixing with RODI water and using a dosing pump for real slow dosing.

Thank you ever so much!

Velkommen til R2R! Dejligt med flere danske reefers! :)

I don't know this product; from reading the title I reckon you are battling high phosphate in your reef tank? Not knowing this product, I can't recommend it.

Here's a thought though. In stead of dosing chemicals like these (.. and there are many variants!), may I suggest to approach your issue from a different angle?

Think about what goes in your tank in the first place, high phosphates don't come out of nowhere! :) Some sources might be your source water (your RODI), the food you feed, any additives you dose etc.

If you add more nutrients than you can export either via uptake or your means of filtration; then you will have high levels of nitrate and phosphate.

I woukdnt do it. There is a viseo floating around of a dude who added pool lanthunum too his 300g tank and it killed all his fish. I have used tropic marins ephos and never had a problem. Pool chemicals may have additives not harmful in a pool but devastating in a reef tank. For the cost and how much you use it i wouldnt chance it. My ephos will probably last my lifetime

The sds(safety data sheet) says it's lanthanum chloride and lanthanum sulfate.
Putting lots of lanthanum all at once no matter who made the brand will kill lots of fish.
