Hey there,

I want to present you my DIY gadget that I made out of boredom.

It is a magnetic stirrer that is simple to use, simple to make and looks clean.
It really made water testing less tedious and I always use it since I got it.

Please note that I am not an electrician - and there are probably better ways to do it but that is what I came up with and it works great :)

Main components:
Switch
9V battery
4cm DC fan
DC-DC converter (step down)
8cm x 8cm x 6cm box
Neodymium magnets
Magnetic Stir bar
some small stuff like tape, shrink tubing etc.

Tools needed:
screw driver
hot glue gun
drill
(Optional) Soldering iron

How to:
Connect all the wires, glue everything in the box, adjust voltage, done... sorry it is late and I'll make a video about the internals and how to connect everything :)
You should get the point from the pictures until then.

Challenges:
find the right magnets to go onto the fan, so it still starts...
find the right voltage so the magnetic stir bar in the test vial connects and spins at the right speed...

Total cost was around 40 €. Depending on what you already got. I only had the magnets and the battery...

Let me know what you think about it.
Is it helpful? Would you make it yourself? What could I improve?

I'll try and answer all question that you may have :)

Greetings
Felix
