Newly introduced saltwater Mollie has been attacked/chomped on by my large established starry blenny. I found out because the Mollie actually jumped out of the tank and when I put him back in, Harold the blenny assaulted him. The Mollie is missing chunks of his tail.

The tank: 150 gallon, 2 months old
Other stock: shrimps, CUC, four tangs of various sizes, dottyback, damsels.
Lots of rock with hiding places.

I don't have another tank to put either fish in. Right now I have the Mollie in a plastic bag floating on the surface so he's safe.

Because the Mollie was shipped from out of state, I'm not sure my LFS would take him. I could rehome the blenny tomorrow. And I did recently lose a blonde naso tang who just looked stressed af (not diseased) and died over the course of 1.5 days (maybe Harold attacked her too).

Rehome the blenny? Or?

Thanks and Happy Thanksgiving!

This is a tough situation... You could take it back to the LFS

Turn off the lights and change positiion slightly of a few rocks to create slightly different environment and that might help by confusing the aggressive fish but really for that big of tank, a little more scape is needed for fish to hide as needed. I've got more rocks in my 65g.
