So I have had my flame angel for about four months now and he seems happy and healthy. The only thing that I’ve noticed that is kind of off is that he often will have a long brown to tan colored string hanging from his hole. Is this a sign of internal parasites or is this just the way this Fish poops did. I will try and get a picture if I can.

If you are feeding fish heavy on mysis shrimp and brine shrimp, it will mimic internal parasites
Please post a couple pics of fish under white light intensity
Often a fish with internal issues will show weight loss, loss of appetite

I don’t worry unless the feces are clear or white. Brown poop is just constipation. You can try more vegetable matter/roughage and less fatty foods.

Haha, my bad I was just thinking about it when I was at my office today. I have my wife on the lookout because she’s home with the tank all day.
Neat, you asked your wife to keep an eye on your fish's stool. I wish I had a woman like that!

Mine is like, "How much did that cost?"

Well that’s good to hear because she eats like a pig and has grown since I got her.

Oh for sure. She knows how much we have into all my fish and corals so if I’m worried about something she is all in to save it.

I don't worry unless it's white or clear. My fish too.
