Hello Reefers! I’ve been encouraged to make an intro post and I thought I’d also get some input on my future build. I’ve been planning a basement remodel and reef tank since Jan of 2023 and I’m close to pulling the trigger on the tank purchase and finalizing my equipment list. I had a good list earlier this year, but now things have started to morph as I learn more. Inputs welcomed.

Already Purchased:
7 stage BRS RO/DI Filter + Hanna checkers for Nitrate & Phosphate + Other test kits

Upcoming Purchases
Cade 1200 S2/P (Peninsula)
Maxspect Gyre XF350 Cloud x 2
EcoTech M2
Apex Controller
Ozotech Ozone Generator

Things I’m still thinking on:
Maxspect AD600 Skimmer
XR30’s. OR Kessil 360’s + AI Blades OR Just 4-5 AI Blades. <— Really struggling with lighting decision for a mixed reef

Welcome to R2R! In a way you making a BIG, EXPENSIVE purchases, In my opinion don't justify the cost of equipment.
I just feel Sorry for people spending crazy money upfront on "high end" equipment, what happens if everything goes south after a year? And you In it already easy $10-15k?

Been there and done that about 13 years ago. I’m getting back into the hobby with way more research and the ability to drown some $$. Going in eyes wide open and getting what I want. (I hear you though and hopefully I didn’t just jinx myself).

wish you best of Luck then, sounds like you know what you doing! I have being watching market forum here for a while, and I just feel bad for people ordering apex, echotech lights, mp40's for their new builds, just to shut down system and post it for sale here for half price. literally with-in 2 years of making a build
