Hi All,

So I am new to the hobby and this is my first time posting on the forum so apologies if this has been covered but I am getting some growth on my rocks and I wanted to know what it was.
I turned off my lights in case this was a harmful pest or something I should be worried about.

Also I am using the red sea marine starter kit and have some leftover from the instruction. Should I just deposit the rest of this in the tank?
Any help is much appreciated.

It's all good, leave it alone and hope for more growth.

Your tank will completely change colors for about a year. It is all normal. Algae is normal. It doesn't require anything crazy. Manage parameters. Have an appropriate size CuC. Remove excess during water changes.
