get a 4 ft tank if you want tangs then you can have any tang that stays under 10 inchso I can put a tang in my tank
consider any tang both temporary and a risk and assure yourself you will upgrade to a larger tank down the road before you make such decision.so I can put a tang in my tank
I'm might be moving houses at the end of the year so I am going to get a 6ft tank when that happensconsider any tang both temporary and a risk and assure yourself you will upgrade to a larger tank down the road before you make such decision.
so would getting a tang now be okayI'm might be moving houses at the end of the year so I am going to get a 6ft tank when that happens
best bets for 6ft-I'm might be moving houses at the end of the year so I am going to get a 6ft tank when that happens

Yep, 30 under any circumstances way to small. Because we have to assume 'life happens' what if you can't upgrade as you had hoped originally? Best to leave it for now. I had my first in a bowfront 90 for about 7 years, till it passed, then my second right after in a traditional rectangular 90. I think it has to do with my rather low rockscape, and low fish stock ( 5 total) for the success in the 90. He doesn't seem a big 'swimmer' like most I have seen for some reason either... perhaps adjusted to the space over time...Yellow Tangs IMO do best in a 120+, 4ft+ tank long term. That’s my opinion. They’re one of the smallest Tangs but still need room. Then again some people have kept them in smaller tanks, @CanuckReefer has had his in a 90 for 18 years and counting, grew from 3 to 5 inches and topped out.
Either way 30’s too small. The smallest Bristletooth Tangs need a 4ft, 75+.
I’m afraid not many good options for a yellow fish in a 30 except for a Golden Assessor.
Had it since about 6 months after I started the tank. Did a move of entire setup about an hour drive. It passed about a week later. 6 + years with that one.Yeah, nevertheless congrats on how long you’ve had him. Any plans to add a sixth fish?
What happened to your first one did it die from old age?
As for a 6th, that's the tip point with me Zionas. It could go very well, or very wrong. 7 is the definitive bad number over the years. I add my stock carefully, and purposeful, at least in my own mind lol. If I add a 6th its going to be well researched and likely a smaller fish, to not upset the established bioload. Since it would be smaller it needs to hold its own vs larger inhabitants. If anything it would likely be a dottyback. Always nervous to add....its an obsession when I do , last add in December of Eibli Angel had me pulling my hair out for a month or so, till I KNEW it was officially settled, unbullied, and no signs of disease.Yeah, nevertheless congrats on how long you’ve had him. Any plans to add a sixth fish?
