In my SPS dominant tank, I tested daily until I got a handle on Alk, Ca, and Mg demands. In my current tank, I usually test once a every other week unless something looks out of whack.

Testing every day resulted in chasing parameters....

I am planning about once a month myself... if it is needed much more I am afraid that I might fail! ahaha. Little too much maintenance for me.

I am a naughty reefer as I go by the way the corals look. If I see a problem then I'll fix it. Of course this is not exactly the scientific way of doing it. I am considering getting the round of tests offered online once a year just to see where everything is. Maybe I'll be surprised! ;)

I started out testing daily until I got my parameters stabile and the kalkwasser and calcium reactors set up properly. Now I test about once a month to make sure things are still in line.
