Any salt mix is fine as long as you understand what impact it has on alkalinity. Some are high, some low.

I used Lanthanum Chloride awhile back. Just use half the dose it states in directions, I dosed mine according to directions and my po4 bottomed out. Maybe I miscalculated the dose.

By the way, go slow with it. Dose the drops in the overflow just ahead of your filter and skimmer.
