it does not look 'normal' but Ich should not show up within hours of bringing it home. So - seems like whatever it had, it had at the store? I would talk to them about a refund. A copper quarantine, otherwise, would be the next step - followed by prazipro - there is a sticky on the top of the fish disease forum

It’s been in the tank for about 3 hours should I be worried for my other stock??

That's definitely ich.
I've got the same thing going on in one of my tanks. New tang brought it in and it spread to the foxface and other tang.

If it has only been 3hrs you should get the fish out asap and you should be fine.

I would recommend getting a uv If you don't alrety have one.

Assuming that the spots are on the fish, not the glass - it looks like ich - and I would contact the place you bought the fish, and yes - you may need to treat the rest of the fish

This is (IMHO) incorrect. The fish should all be treated for Ich. The fact that it was 3 hours is not an issue.

Even just 3 hours!?!?
Yes. Even just 3 hours. Now - the likelihood is 'low', but the answer is it's possible. Kind of like when people don't QT coral - its also unlikely to spread fish parasites but its possible

Primafix is not likely to help this issue - it's an anti fungal treatment. If you're treating fish with copper, you need to document the levels are correct.

Yea.
I didn't even know qt coral was a thing pepole acaully did.

I don't really worry about it since I get almost all coral at my lfs(which is where I work) and the coral tank is completely separate there.
I got a few acro from a freind but thoes are clean systems.

You're correct if the coral tank is fishless for >60-76 days - there is no risk

This summer when I move I am planning to run the new tank fishless and with corals inverts and old rock while I treat fish in my current tank. Which will become a qt. With a tank as big as I'm planning on I feel like not qt is a big risk. And why not add a little area where I can put a qt when delighting the house.
