@vetteguy53081 i read a post that you mentioned that white spots could be poor water quality which I am fighting right now. My NO3 & PO4 are elevated externally high. I had to medicate my DT due to a bacterial infection and it whipped my bacteria out which I am trying to re-establish.So if that is what it is, what do I do?

Meds with formalin dosed in a QT tank seem to be one of the only options for treating serious fish disease if that is brook. They also call it clown fish disease.

could that be what this is? I have not added ANYTHING to my tank in many months.
So I just went through 8 weeks of medicating my DT for a bacterial infection.Meds with formalin dosed in a QT tank seem to be one of the only options for treating serious fish disease if that is brook. They also call it clown fish disease.
I'll defer to some of the experts here but if your clown has brook, those meds are not effective for it from what I have read. Bacteria can enter your tank in many ways. If you wiped out your good bacteria treating the DT then bad bacteria can easily gain an edge if it gets in.So I just went through 8 weeks of medicating my DT for a bacterial infection.
I did;
1 week of Prazi while feeding Metro
1 week of Neoplex
3 weeks of Kanaplex
Water changes and required breaks in between
how can I have another disease?
thanks for your help!
Just noticed today and now that I look at my others, they have issues too.I'll defer to some of the experts here but if your clown has brook, those meds are not effective for it from what I have read. How long has your clown showed symptoms?
Unfortunately, this is Brooklynella which can mimic ich. If it hasnt happened yet, fish may scrape up against objects, rapid respiration develops, and fish often gasp for air at the surface as the gills become clogged with mucus. Very quickly the fish will become lethargic, refuse to eat, and its colors will fade. The most noticeable symptom of Brooklynella is the heavy amount of slime that is produced by a fish that has contracted this parasite. As the disease progresses, a thick whitish mucus covers the body. This will usually start at the head and spread outward across the entire body. Skin lesions appear and it is not uncommon for signs of secondary bacterial infections.@vetteguy53081 i read a post that you mentioned that white spots could be poor water quality which I am fighting right now. can i treat the DT so the other fish are cured also?yes all clowns, but i dont understand how they got it anfd whatr about my other fish?
I havent added anything to my system for many months
Would a Prazi treatment for the entire DT help?can i treat the DT so the other fish are cured also?
Is this on my cardinal also?Would a Prazi treatment for the entire DT help?
They call it clownfish disease because it typically starts with clowns. It can be dormant for months and then go active. Usually death within 48 hours. It can infect all fish but some may not get the disease. It wiped out 5 fish in mine. If you can QT the fish with symptoms you might save some others. In order to clean the tank you need a 6 week fallow period too.yes all clowns, but i dont understand how they got it anfd whatr about my other fish?

I don’t see the spots under a white light or flash light. Can you share photos of them under white light? It’s really hard to see with the blue.
As for Brook, you’ve got two responses that say what to do. Prazipro isn’t going to do anything to help. You need to treat them as outlined above in a separate tank or container.
Thank you all for your responses.I don’t see the spots under a white light or flash light.
