Hey guys! My new tank is coming next week its a Reefcasa Flat 9 and I plan on starting it up next week! As such I do not have a par meter. I'm hoping my LFS has one I can rent. but for right now I am wondering how high It should be until I can get a meter. The tank itself is 7 Inches high. I do understand it doesn't matter as much during the cycle .. but just want to see what everyone else thinks.

Check the choose your kessil guide on kessils website. It has the recommended mounting height and spread per tank type

I didn't know they had that one their website... Mmm so it looks like a good start would be 8 inches.

I think 6-8” should be fine, just depends on how much you’re trying to cover and how much light spill you have? But I would start around 8” and move the light until you’re happy.
