That is what it looks like to me. I wish I could grow it in my tank but my naso tang and my foxface devour it.Is it just dragons breath macro?
I would agree the shape looks more like this, but I have not seen any of Dictyota that is all red. I did try adding dragons breath around 1.5-2 years ago and it got devoured by the emerald crab.that looks similar to dictyota to me.
I added some around 1.5-2 years ago and the emerald crab made short work of it! I wonder if some of the cells made it and are regrowing. Something about the very patterned shape makes me think it could not be dragons breath. That is what it looks like to me. I wish I could grow it in my tank but my naso tang and my foxface devour it.
I am personally super happy I think it looks absolutely lovely.I've got a ton of that stuff. Came in on some LR from FL. So far nothing in my tank is eating it, but the lawnmower blenny occasionally eats other things that grow on it.
Ohhhh I like the sound of that thought, maybe mine will do the sameI would agree the shape looks more like this, but I have not seen any of Dictyota that is all red. I did try adding dragons breath around 1.5-2 years ago and it got devoured by the emerald crab.

That is awesome!! Super cool to get a macro algae that is not common. I have never heard of any of these.I'd guess either Dichotomaria or Metacallophyllis.
Very cool! Hopefully it will spread for you.My guess from google photos is Dichotomaria Marginata
