!!MOBIUS UPDATE for LEGACY Ecotech devices is in this morning :)

Oh yes. Dont do anything to your MPpumps or G4 lights or older. Keep using them as is. If you have a Ecotech return pump or new G5 lights just add those to Mobius and ignore the MPpumps and lights. Let the WXM continue to control the MPpumps and lights. Basically if you are going to use Mobius when you are in I guess "discover mode" it will show all available devices that you can control with Mobius. At that point it will ask to update a device. Just dont update or add those devices you want the WXM to continue to control.

I’m setting up a new tank and purposefully ran to get MP40s before Mobius was announced for them. Won’t be setting that up and my apex until next week when the tank comes in so just want to make sure it will still work. Plan to add my G5’s since that’s not WXM compatible anyways.

MPpumps have been shipping Mobius ready for some time. They just need to be "woken up" to be used in Mobius. New MPpumps come "woken". You can still use the new Mobius ready pumps with the WXM... just dont set them up with Mobius.

WXM works as it always has. There’s no integration between WXM and mobius .... frankly not sure I understand fullly what you are asking.

They do become absent from Ecotech Live once you update them.

More so, I bought new equipment to set up before mobius (barely before) and want to make sure my WXM will work once it is set up.

Mine updated also though I called them a few weeks ago and asked to be on the list which they did for me. I never had any problems with my Reef Link. Out of the 5 MP 40's I have two of them I had to purchase the new chips for.

It wont be like that long, there are a handful of people beta testing wifi enabled mobius. Although I can't speculate when it will be available for all, I can say that it eventually will.

No, in fact it seems a rumor has been spread that if you call them they will immediately add you, which has overwhelmed CS. They have been adding new users to legacy devices on a weekly bases. You just have to be patient and wait.

Yes it has. But I believe that’s more a tongue in cheek response based on how poorly the Mobius release has gone. You can search countless threads of people with tons of issues since it started, so you’re kind of still beta testing the software since it isn’t really fully functional (and debugged) yet

Ive got some primes and have watched a video here and there about Mobius but same, Ive heard bad things / its buggy. but I figured that its out now so maybe its good I should have not got my hopes up.... i mean look at mindstream.

We've been using it with our lights and it works fine. They came Mobius equipped. We are just waiting for the update to start up our pumps. The lights are more important anyway, I think.

The rule of thumb is circa 2018. Best way is to verify that it is mobius compatible with reeflink or simply pulling the cover of the driver off to see what color the rf chip is.

So got the update a few days ago for my MP40's update to mobius.
WOW, I am not impressed. I thought ecosmart live had some issues. This app drops connections or fails to connect when starting the app like 60% of the time. Thinking of downgrading them back to ESL. Also i feel it was so much easier to program the pump schedules in ESL on the PC vs mobius.

The old RF chips are green. The new Bluetooth enabled/Mobius compatible chips are black.
