Gear:
3 MP10mQD Mobius wave makers (setup in left, right, and back placement of my tank)
MXM module
Apex A3 Pro

What profiles are provided for Vortech pumps in Neptune?

I am only seeing (constant, reef crest, lagoon, pulse, tidal, nutrient). In old documentation for the WXM module, it also showed an anti-sync and back profiles as well.

Am I doing something wrong?

I noticed there was an aos update last night for mxm functionality. Have you upgraded the aos already? I don’t know that will change anything for you or not but thought I’d throw it out there

I found my answer and it sucks and yes, I did the AOS update yesterday:

At launch the following Mobius/and or MyAI features will not be available once the equipment is being controlled using MXM – APEX and Fusion.

  1. Light acclimation toggle (this can be achieved with programming in Fusion)
  2. Pump Sync/Anti Sync/Ecoback modes
  3. Mobius or MyAI templates (these can be recreated manually in Fusion)

It advises at launch anti sync won’t be available. Does this mean it will be added later?

I just got my MXM setup and also found that anti-sync is gone. Ill go back to my WXM. already contacted BRS for a return label!
Yeah I didnt get it for the Vortechs... more for the Radions. Im running both the MXM and WXM. Im not even sure I could update the firmware to run the vortechs on Mobius. Not worth getting if you dont have other devices that you need to control with Apex. Dont even think I would want to go out of my way to run the vortechs on the MXM. They run just fine on the WXM.

Yeah, that's a little disappointing (but typical half *** for Neptune) but I have MP40wqd's and will continue using the WXM module (works very well in Apex). Like a lot of people, I got them for controlling Radions. My Vectra M2 does not have the chip and probably won't add one. The REAL disappointment is found in the install doc Getting started. According to that and everything else I have seen MXM is almost pointless. All the updates to it come from Mobius, everything has to be configured in Mobius and does not seem like any actual control in Apex. It would seem the WXM's only purpose is to real time update your devices to maybe keep them in sync vs. Mobius that does nothing unless the app is open. Mines due for delivery today so more to come.

Yeah I have both. Only really got the MXM for my Radions. Maybe a Versa when that gets supported by the MXM. I just think why didn't they just open the WXM. 1 big update and forget about Mobius altogether. I'm sure this module took so long to come out because of Mobius. Also could be that so many people use Mobius and dont have an Apex but then again those same people wont have a need for this module. Im just happy that we got what we got. It could have been alot worse... IOTA!

I actually think its Ecotech this time. They are the ones who block Neptune to begin with. We are only getting the MXM because they are all under the same umbrella now. I'm sure some upper end executive from Ecotech is huffing and puffin that MXM is out. They prolly made it difficult for Neptune and made it so that it would only work thru Mobius. Again im sure Mobius would still be used by non Apex users. Neptune would have prolly just wanted to update/open the WXM. But who knows. Think it would have been easier to re release the WXM but might make more money just coming out with a new grey box.

Yeah, you're probably right and I suspected much the same. Got my MXM a little while ago, plugged it in and Apex see's the device but guess what Mobius does not. So here we go...

So, they left one important step out of the instructions. You have to do a device search in Mobius to add MXM first. Now that I'm into it I hate to say this, but Mobius is a simpler solution. They do have some templates but pretty poor so far and a pain to setup times and points. Having a hard time getting it back the same as the modified LPS template I was using in Mobius. Oh and the lunar portion are actually separate devices. All in all may more flexible but a pain to setup. If I can get one light done I can of course copy those setting to my other two lights.

Took a little effort to setup but basically started from scratch adding points and got pretty close to my original. The thing that's going to suck is there is no device grouping in Apex. Unlike Mobius where there is a single slider for % intensity Apex does not have it. It only has point intensity so in my case if I want to adjust intensity you have to manually change it in one light and then copy to the other two. Interestingly enough if it loses connection to MXM it just reverts to your original template in Mobius. This is actually what I kind of expected that the interface and programming is pretty much identical to programming old MP's using the WXM module. And yes Apex has added a few templates you can start with but for me it was easier just starting from scratch.
