Very observant
Yes the list is outdated.
I'm sitting in front of my tank now.
Watching a copper band eating my acans @ 3ft deep.
I'm trying to figure how to get it out. I think the tank will have to be pulled down.
I hope he has a sleep in my carpet nem

Thank you for the diagram Mike. I want to say one last question but I have a feeling it wont be the last question. What kind of ozone generator are you using? Or are you just using air to generate ozone?

I had to go study for a little bit but this method looks to simplify a lot of things to me. A lot of test were inconclusive on using it in aquaria. But looking at your tank. The proof is in the pudding I would say. In my opinion the entire tank is must easier controlled. Are you using carbon on the back end as in right after the skimmer? How are you watching your ORP?

I have a fish trap. The problem is the copper band isn't eating fish food.
I think i will try putting an acan in the trap first.
Im not using carbon after the skimmer.
I don't believe carbon can remove residual ozone.
03 is very unstable and turns to o2 fast.
There is no live load in the reservoir
I wouldn't use ozone in a sump where you are trying to encourage bacteria.
My water is crystal clear.
Im no longer checking orp

Cool Thank You. I know how I'm going to set up now. Like I said a lot of things where inconclusive as far as what the person writing the article's I read really new about this approach in aquaria. He made it sound as if no one really had answers to some of the questions. I'm pretty sure you could shine more light on a lot of the questions he was left with at the end of all the test. The only problem I see so far is I haven't been able to find the fauna marin lite balling so far. I did find it in the trace elements version but that's all I can see on the internet so far. Thank You so much for sharing my friend!!!

No problems mate sharing is what these forums is about. Good and bad experiences.

O3 is very short lasting however it does have a couple of long lasting affects on water chemistry that you should understand.
Fe iron will drop out.
So will manganese .
If you plan on a fuge this will inhibit growth of your macro algeas.
I do not test for iron.
I haven't seen any negative effects of this in my tank.
Try putting 5L of aquarium water into a white bucket. Now look at the colour of the water in the sunlight. In most tanks you will see a slight tannin colour.
We pay big money for starphire or ultra clear glass. If your water is discoloured what is the point?
Also we strive to replicate the sun with our lighting. What is the effect of the lights shining through the discoloured water?
Light spectrums are sensitive. The water acts as a continuation of the lens.
The Balling light is the name given to the method.
The FM trace elements are added to FM calc and alk.
Its is by far the simplest system and i can't speak highly enough about it.
Its a shame we can't get all the products here in Australia.

Beautiful setup!

Be careful skydiving! My uncle retired from skysurfing more than 10 years ago after his second son was born. He's lost so many friends to skydiving/skysurfing now that it's almost depressing. Seems like 1-2 every year :/

Sky surfing yes very dangerous. There are always risk involved. I do my best to limit them.
The tank is cruising along nicely. My wife is trying to catch that copper band today. I will be adding more light this week. I needed more flow up the left hand side. The SPS on the right side near the gyre were looking great. The SPS on the left were not so good.
Mp40 made a big difference. I will be working on my photography skills so I can put some decent pics up.

I fed a juicy acan up with reef roids
3 days guarding the trap.
The trap door failed 3 times.
Still beats pulling the tank down.

The 9x3x3 is only 10 weeks old. So it has a long way to grow out like the more established tanks.
I think i have finished fine tuning the light set up.
4 hydra 52's hanged flat @ 10 inches
2 x 52's on angles at the front
2 x 26's on angles at the front

I woke up this morning 2am to hear pumps running dry.
I got up to look.
My wave line 12000 had turned itself off. I plugged it out then back in it restarted.
As we know my system looses 200L when the pump stops.
This pump failure was an event I hadn't planned for.
Down to LFS for salt.
I gave myself a crash course on how to mix.
Tropic Marin salt.
Anyone else experienced this with wave line???
