I got eggs!!!! My mandarins just laid, not a big clutch, as they go little by little, but I caught about a dozen. I have them floating in a bag in a dark area of my sump. My pod culture is a little weak, so this one likely will not be raised.

Awesome, congrats! They'll spawn regularly now? Good luck when you decide to raise them, definitely will be following along.

LOL, I still want to go with more tanks for pods, it's bad enough I have a ton of frags to make, and a new tank on the way. Now I will have a ton of dragonetts by the end of the summer if all goes as planned.

I was thinking of getting 2 dragonets today and have them in my 15 gallon algae scrubber, full of pods since I also feed phyto, do you think that’s enough room for them ?

I like to give them lots of room to scavenge, they like it in the bigger tanks, and the height is really important to them. Make sure they are opposite genders, and you can always net some pods from your algae scrubber every few days. They are big and fat in the 125 with a fuge, every now and then I shake the pods out of my chaeto, and that helps a ton.

What does he feed them? I heard they grow really slow with artemia, but I have a 40 gallon fuge for them to reside in, with a huge chunk of chaeto and pods.

Congrats on being able to catch some of them. Hopefully by the end of the summer you will have a bunch of dragonet babies.

I looked in the bag to see one larvae moving, and one that moved to the feeding stage dead. I did not plan on keeping this one, and will try for real when they spawn again
