Glad it all came together so smoothly for you Marty, beautiful upgrade with increased volume and external overflow. The only disappointment for me was that Eric (the real glass guy) was not there to build it for you............cannot ever forgive Mike for what he did...... just wrong.
Eric is finally mostly up and running now and thinking about having him build me a taller replacement for my 125g in the 175-185 gallon range. 3-sided low iron and of course the external overflows to gain some greatly needed inside real estate. Still need to have you up for a visit some time as well as getting a few of the guys up here for a 'Road Trip' down South to check out your new beast.

Cheers, Todd

Thank-you Todd.

What happened between Mike and Eric was just wrong all the way around.

If you came down I would literally drape a blanket over my wood work.
My wood training is as a framer and it shows.

I went around my tank 2 or 3 times checking for unglued fittings, looking at the couple of hose clamps, making sure they were tight, bulkheads, screwed fittings, etc.
So I figured everything was cool.
After the tank was full and running for a half hour or so, everything seem stable, I made a cheeseburger run.
Was gone maybe 25 minutes. Sat down and ate my lunch.
Went over to the tank to check again for leaks and saw a little water on the floor directly underneath the manifold end cap.
So I reached down to see if I could feel water dripping from it and I even gave it a little pull.
I did this while the Reeflo Snapper/Dart pump is running.
The cap started to move a hair, then all of a sudden it tried to come off completely, with a lot of pressure.
There was a actual brief moment of panic.
I was lucky that I was able to push it back on and run around to the other end and shut off the pump.
If it would have come off, it would have been like a charged firehose blowing water out.

Now that I think about it... Wouldn't that be a good place for a drain??

It's the end of the manifold for the closed loop pump.

But with any drain you would want it at the lowest point in the system.
And that is over at the pump.

WOW! Marty you are extremely lucky that you did not decide to celebrate your plumbing success and go out for a fine dining sit down meal....lol

I would not worry to much about your woodworking skills as most people (non woodworkers) hardly notice all the work/effort I put into mine.

Cheers, Todd

Most certainly. I haven't fully read the thread. Mostly bits and pieces and of course picture drooling. I've subscribed, just need to catch up! :)

Congrats on the plumbing success Marty. FWIW a little fresh water rinse is good for certain parts of the house sometimes. Hehe.

Maybe it will help remove some of the saltwater that's been spilled over the years. lol

I'm using a bean animal style drain system.
And while doing a water test I found the quietest way was to actually remove one of the pvc sets of tee/90 combo's and have a straight pipe as the main full syphon.
It doesn't flush, and the water level stays steady in the overflow box.

Looks amazing Marty, nice recovery. I concur with Duane on the Trio of Hippo's, hard to beat the color they bring to a Reeftank.

Cheers, Todd

The hippo's are definitely my favorite fish.

Going to remove the two brown leathers on the right. Not sure they are going to make it.
Probably going to do mostly LPS on that side.

Looks great Marty. I love the three amigos as well. Sorry for all the losses you went through during your swap but it won't be long until you have this thing looking as fantastic as it did before. It really already does.
