Duncans like/need to eat either by catching stuff in a broadcast feed or by you directly feeding them.

I rarely feed my duncans... i do know they love to be fed, but i had a cleaner shrimp that would play wack a mole with it, when i used to fed it... and now its being hosted by clowns, that will attack the pippet or anything for that manner that gets near it.

But it has grown this big with almost no feedings. I started with only 2 heads...

Roughly a size of a large softball, big enough for my female clown to hide inside if needed.

So i don't think feedings are absolutely necessary, or my clowns have been sneaking it food when i don't notice it.

:thinking-face:

My Duncans are my best growers but they’re also great canary in the coal mine type Coral for me. If my parameters change slightly, they let me know. Can you post your parameters?

I +1 with this statement..
If something is wacked in my water params, my duncan imediately lets me know.
Almost like my Zoa's.

But i don't think they have ever receeding far back as yours in that first picture, which leads me to believe i think those 2 big heads are dead.

Just grow it: Have you ever added CO2 to your reef tank?
