My skimmer fell and has a huge broken out part on bottom will it still work?

My skimmer fell down while cleaning and the bottom near the air intake shattered,I glued a piece of perspex on the broken piece and drilled a new pump intake. Will this skimmer work properly again .It is a Bubble Margus NAC 7.

I think it's a case of try it out with fingers crossed!
