So long time lurker, new to commenting, and possibly mental for my undertaking. I present my newly started reef tank. It's a custom built Envision acrylic tank. 84Lx48Dx30H. It has a central overflow as the wife wanted it 4 sides viewable with no seen cords. James Steele does fabulous work and is easy to work with. I'll continue the journey with its ups and downs and pray to the good lord above it doesnt leak (It's in the middle of our clinic as a barrier and stress relief.

Definitely following along.

Love to hear what you're planning for lighting and equipment.

I'll post more as we go. It's taken 3 years to get to this point. But quick equipment run down, rubbermaid 150gallon and 50 gallon water trough sump. Reef octopus SRO 5000 internal skimmer. 4 to 5 gallon refugium expanding quickly. It is lit with a kessil a360 refugium light. The main tank is lit with 4 ghl mitras lx7206 and 2 lx 7204s. The return pum is a reeflo hammerhead/barracuda gold hybrid. It also has a closed loop run by a dolphin ampmaster marine high corrosive grade 6270 pump running through an ocean motion 4 way.

Quick view of the sump area. Yeah.....I aint a plumber, it aint pretty, but I did it myself. And I tried to make everything as straight a shot as possible without too many bends because my return has to pump up about 12 to 15 feet for the return. Still wanted about 3 to 4000 gallons per hour through it.

Super excited to follow your build! Very curious to see how the central overflow turns out. What type of clinic is it? Lucky clients.

Thanks! Me too on the overflow. So far so good, there are fish in the tank. Just not trying to give it all away at once. Veterinary clinic.

Nice setup man! Can’t wait to see that thing full! :D
Thanks for the kind words. Got a little ahead of myself, and everything isnt finished yet. But my wife told me I could get fish. So I rushed as much as I could before she changed her mind!

Wow. That’s gonna be such a cool space !
Thankyou. Luckily with Covid we are still curbside, so I spend a lot of time in that room looking at fish, thinking about placement of corals when they start going in and growing, and what to blow more money on!

We discussed that, the fish room is below the tank, so hopefully if it does all the water goes to the basement.
we bought a new house. i was all set to put my 110 X High in the living room.
meantime my parents decided to buy my wife all this high end special order furniture for the living room.
she decided the tank wasn't going in "her" living room.
worked out for me. basement was already finished.
upgraded to a 150 X High in "my" room with a fish room behind.

i see much success in your future tank endeavor.

Some frags for the big tank. Once I get the six line out, some Berghia nudibranchs in for the aiptasia, and then a fallow period (75 days) to ensure no fish pests. I've dealt with velvet and ich in the past, and I refuse to do that with a tank this size. Getting fish from TSM aquatics. Two shipments already and they have been great. Healthy eating pigs!

Mitras lights looks like a nice coverage. Very even
Yeah my wife and I looked at coverage dimensions, and the mitras were just about perfect with the overflow. They dont have kessel shimmer, but really even and nice with no discoball either. We like them a lot. GHL also says with the puck arrangement they have useable par down to 36 inches, which is 6 inches below the tank. This is going to be mainly a mixed reef with SPS being montis and birdsnest (easy to keep sticks). I wont have a ton of colonies, but am going to allow smaller numbers grow to their potential. Hope it works out well. Got a green polyp toadstool that I think will be stunning when its the size of a catchers mit or larger. Thanks for the interest!
