Wondering if these look more like nassarius or trochus snail eggs. (Those are the 2 types of snails I have, not counting possibility of eggs from small hitchhiker population like chitons and such)
I see these periodically and had a bunch this morning in 3 different spots.
*I've never seen any baby snails and think trochus can survive so would guess probably nassarius

These look similar to Nassarius snail egg pictures on Google, so maybe.

Oh, interesting. Didn't know that.
I actually didn't either! I've had 2 trochus spawning events and never saw their eggs. Just assumed I was looking in the wrong place. I've seen them sploot their white mists before.... but I kinda assumed that was just the.... fertilization proces...

Yeah, it'll cloud the tank. It's interesting to watch. Usually one or two start and the all of them join in.

One or two of my trochus will occasionally start twitching (can hear the shell scrapes against the glass and go see that a snail is kind of gyrating back and forth).
Research suggested that was a symptom of a spawning event but I've never actually seen anything visually in the water.
*conversely, micro brittle stars expel obvious (visual) evidence into the water when they're spawning in my tank

My trochus snails must just be impotent -- doh!
