That's a great idea. Was it preformed?I used pond liner, so it's like a sealed bathtub under there and will hold 75 gallons before it goes over the top.
So it doesn't matter if the bottom doesn't cover every inch?I just cut them on the sides and front and back so plywood sits inside the legs

Ok now I get it. But yours is just the liner on the floor? I'd love to see a pic of it when you get a chance.I gotta figure out the quote feature. The rim idea is a nice one. I think they mean you secure a stripe of wood along the inside of the stand, from left to right, on both the front and back. The stripe would be attached, but wouldn't affect load. Then you could sit a plywood sheet on those stripes. It won't be attached to anything and will be quite secure.
I think that's what they meant.... it would work even if it wasn't. LOL.
I just lol'dThat is a great example of an uneducated build. Using 4x4 posts to hold up a mine shaft, and then not using them for vertical support at all by screwing in the laterals on the side of the corner posts. Why not just square up a sequoia and have it solid wood?
I'm hoping they know each other.I just lol'd
Is the top granite, it sure is beautiful. I really like the outlet above the tank. I did that on mine and it works great to keep the cords from the lights heaters and power heads out of sight and it is much easier when the power heads need cleaning to pull them out the top instead of pulling them through a hole in the stand.Pics of my stand build. The tank and sump are under construction. This is my first saltwater and reef.
Lynn, The top is quartz, a manufactured product. I love it but its HARD. It has a resin so you can't place super hot items on it. I love it. I also made all four sides completely removable. It makes it very easy to work underneath the tankIs the top granite, it sure is beautiful. I really like the outlet above the tank. Removable sides is something I wish I did on mine. would make things a lot easier. One day I might get bored and knock the sides of and put some magnetic henges.Lynn, The top is quartz, a manufactured product. I love it but its HARD.
