Well, with scales on the tank bottom, they had to come off the fish. Unless the fish are farting around after being frightened, I just can’t think of any reason that would happen except them doing it to each other - but they seem to be swimming together fine in the video.
I’ve seen cases of severe infection causing scales to drop off a fish, but the fish are always very sickly looking when that happens, not like these.

@Jay Hemdal when I looked at the system - I thought - they are scraping themselves across some 'linear' thing multiple times. it does not look like a normal injury - right?

Today there is a red mark where the white thing was yesterday. And other fish has 2 white spots starting to appear. It looks like a pimple to start and then grows to what looks like something sticking out of the skin of the fish. It’s hard to get a good picture. I circled in red to what I’m talking about.
