Our friend came over yesterday (he built my stand, sump, skimmer) and raised the durso pipe in my overflow and it's night and day in terms of noise. I'm so happy with the "quiet" sound now! just wanted to share 
no longer a rain forest in my living room!

Nice! I have an MP40, so "quiet" isn't something I have very often, but I am used to it, and it is just white noise now.
