Odd fish sales technique?

Not sure if correct forum section but found this browsing craigslist this morning and struck me as a little sketchy. Is this a normal practice?

I emailed out of curiosity i can picture some guy with little quart containers labeled blue fish or yellow fish needs tlc on the upside down ones.

Interesting idea but sounds stressful for the fish to get packed and unpacked based on unsold fish.

Did you ever get more info on this? That last line, "have orders in by midnight", makes it sound like a delivery service and maybe not so much a "fish truck" driving around looking for sales.

They emailed me back and said let them know what is wanted from their list and that their truck would be leaving the facility shortly. Asked for webpage or puctures available but that was a no.

I have definitely seen this done in other industries. Business is located in City A but knows there is a market in City B, makes periodic stops in a central location in City B and advertises for pre-orders. It's a good way to serve another area without the hassle of running a brick and mortar, plus by loading up on orders, there is no down time like a normal store.
A first for fish, but it may be signs that the industry is trying to compete with the convenience of online fish stores.

I don't see why they can't take the time to photograph their inventory though..

I would be weary of a scam unless someone I know has already taken the leap of faith and purchased from such a ''business''
far too many scammers out there these days to trust some random post.
