cleaned my circulating pump. left it in vinegar for about 3 days. Seen this white layer on the pump. nothing seems broken just want to make sure is safe to put back in the tank.
What kind of build up is this.

not a good idea to soak it in vinegar for that long, it will dry out and crack rubber parts and o-rings, and shorten the life of your equipment. Soak it in citric acid is better.

I just scrub mine with a toothbrush and put back in the tank.

I think a 5 gallon bucket filled to 2 or 3 gallons of tap water, pump running and a bit of hydrogen peroxide would work pretty good.
Or citric acid.
