Woke up this morning to our purple tang having an odd bubble over its left eye. We’ve had it 3 months with no issues. The eye isn’t cloudy and all the other tank mates are fine. What could it be? Is it an injury?

Looks like a significant injury with possible retina damage
Treat in a separate tank using Maracyn- Not Maracyn oxy

That’s usually caused by a strike injury. If the fish is free of other symptoms, I would just observe it for now. Catching and moving it, unless done very carefully, often results in additional injuries.

Watch for white growths, redness or increasing size of the bubble. Unless you see that, best to leave it be.
