Hi all,

I just got some premium live rock from Gulf Live Rocks to add to my 50 gallon lagoon. Found a little red mantis shrimp about 1.5-2 inches long. I’ll add pics soon if anyone wants to see. Wondering your thoughts on keeping or giving away? I’m pretty sure most answers are gonna be “get rid of it”, but just curious. I wish I had the time and space to set up a little mantis tank for it but unfortunately that’s not an option.

Well it depends. Is your lagoon a reef? If I found one id probably sell it or give it away. Although keeping it in the sump and maybe feeding it and putting a cheap light on the sump tank would be ideal. Its your choice.

I've got one in my tank. It will go after CUC. Possibly tiny fish? I have a few unexplained deaths. :thinking-face: ;)
I don't fret over them, but if they eventually get brave and start coming out I do what I can do remove them and put in a fuge or bring to LFS.

sadly i have an AIO setup so no sump. ended up giving the little guy to my LFS. i’ve always wanted to set up a separate system to keep one but timing was not ideal this time haha
