You don't think you can read that syringe to the nearest tenth of an mL?
Love this question. I use a syringe with and without a tip and I have never thought to use a camera to get a clear view of the plunger. I do have a method I use to keep the measurements “the same “ each time because I can’t see that well anymore.

Clearly 2.9, but not going to say that without the picture in general practice. Thanks for sharing another great tip!
