Nah. Lots of people have vermetids. My experience is they get competed out, and you can always manually remove the ones that are annoying coralsif it’s that guy says it is then you are screwed.

Sure, if you don't have other things that outcompete them (more common in a new tank, is my experience). If you have specific ones that are bothering corals, you can snip/glue them. I can't really imagine them taking over a tank when there's consistent maintenance and people are regularly watching what's happening in their tank.The fact that they can completely take over an aquarium and kill coal.

Honestly, they're one of those things that new reefers worry about, and you just get less stressed about them over time.
