Today I woke up to literally seeing my baby hippo disappear. Every morning I usually wake up to him just doing laps in the tank ready to eat but today was different. He was no where to be seen so I immediately started looking around the tank even moving the rocks knowing it would probably cause the other fish stress. But nothing. I couldn’t find anything and I genuinely was confused bc I knew he couldn’t disappear like that. Then out of nowhere I noticed my anemone super plump and I thought to myself no way could my hippo tang was eaten. Well since I had no other choice, I decided to remove the anemone and guess what I found. Sadly he had taken the life of my hippo tang who was quarantined and super healthy. I had this anemone from the live rock that I bought from Florida and never thought much of it. But over the years I would randomly lose fish and genuinely never thought twice. Now I know my anemone was killing fish and stupidly I thought only carpet anemones eat fish…. Good news is that he is no longer in my tank…..
