The story I heard was that only a few people ever got their hands on a frag of the original Serene Novas, and apparently this morph has not come in with other collections which have been distributed at large. Unfortunately it's a story of melting and loss in the end. Nobody who originally got a piece seems to have succeeded in keeping this morph and passing it around. It was supposed to have been as nice as the pics, according to those who saw it. Too bad really.

Not that it's the same, but I actually think that the R2R Red Velvet bears some resemblance to the pic of the Serene Novas. I can't say for sure as I never saw the Serenes in person, but the lighter pink center with red outer and skirt gives it a certain similarity; not the same, but similar. When I was trying to ID the Red Velvet, the Serene Nova was the only one that I thought had decently similar characteristics. It'll be interesting to see how the Velvets develop as they grow out and develop into a colony.

Hit up Vince from Unique Corals, for some reason I recall him knowing something about the Serene Novas...

I saw a posting once where the guy claimed to be the original holder, but his colony melted and he never fragged or distributed. Not sure if it's true or not.
