Significant drop in pH

Hello

my pH graph as detected by the Apex probe:

Nothing has changed in my tank itself, I am not dosing any acids obviously…

the only thing I can think of is that the house has recently started heating (getting cold up here in Vermont!).

Could the furnace be producing this much Carbon dioxide to affect the pH in such a drastic way?!?!? Hopefully no carbon monoxide…

I will open some windows and buy some CO2 detectors (believe current smoke alarms also detect CO).

Do not remember seeing such a drop last fall…

Any insight is appreciated!

To be honest?

The probe has not been calibrated or wiped in years. I will address it when I get home from work today. I actually still have some calibration fluid packets, hope they are not expired.

I too expect a measurement issue of some sort if you changed nothing (including closing windows). If you closed windows two days ago for the first time, that might do it.

The furnace should not be adding any CO2 (should all go up the flue), but closed windows traps inside the CO2 from your breathing, pets, gas kitchen stove, etc.

I hate to say this because I own multiple Neptune apex, but I can’t seem to rely on their probes on almost anything. If I see something weird I check things “the old way” so I don’t have heart attacks anymore
