I have about 30 gallons of R/O water stored in a Brute container. I typically have a water pump to kept water circulating. I forgot all about this water in the container and now smells like stale water. I figured by adding salt it would kill off the smelly bacteria but it has not.
I prefer not to throw all that water out and was wondering if adding some Hydrogen Peroxide would get rid of the smell? If so how much should be added?

I had a bad smell in my ATO reservoir. Despite my efforts I couldn’t get rid of it by just wiping it.

I had to use a bleach solution to clean the bucket and also the ATO tube. I suppose there was bacteria in it somewhere. This did the trick.

So maybe just finish using your water if it’s got 0 TDS and then do what I did. Just make sure you rinse very well.

(I threw mine out because I was worried it was contaminated. That’s the best solution IMO).
