standing UV in the sump? how bad of an idea is this?

the long and short of it. i am setting up a high bio load tank in a smaller 3' tank. I have a huge skimmer, reef mat mini brs reactor and UV.
just wondering if the UV and stand in the sump about 6'-8"submerged in the water.

just curious...
the UV is 25w aqua UV

Here is the idea:

most likely I will mount on the side of the stand. Just thinking out side of the box here, as space is at a premium in the stand I was most a controller board to keep the east heat of wires down.

this is going to be a seahorse tank. the UV will help prevent bac. infections.

True, but lowers the good guy algae as well.
I know squat on Seahorses so of no help to you.
Very nice and clean set up though, great work.

thanks, some how I cant go with my original plan of mounting the UV horizontal to the right of the sump. with the UV cords its to long.

no big deal I will mount it vertical to the right of the sump. looks great give myself a pack on the back until I realize I cant get my huge skimmer cup out...oops
