Heat test:
After the concern of leds running hot, once i got home i took some temp test to see how hot things are.

This pic is me pressing prob onto heatsink channel in the middle of pendant.

1362785778192.jpg

This pic is the temp of a blue+ ati bulb

1362785837354.jpg

Actual temp of royal blue with no optics are 100% power

1362785905899.jpg

Probe pressed outside of heatsink next to same royal blue led bulb and a purple+ and blue+ light bouncing off of heatsink.

Probe against optic of royal blue

Summary:
Bulb temp led= 120°
Bulb temp t5= 120°
Heatsink temp= 90-100°
Optic temp= 100°

I can live with 90-100° temp from 120° bulb using no fan.

You have no need to worry then. I guess crees run a lot hitter than bridgelux. 2/3's as bright, 1/2 the price, and 1/3 as hot.lol

That aluminum c-channel actually has a lot of surface area for heat to dissipate. That is probably part of the reason that they stay fairly cool. If you add up the square inches of surface vs. the number of chips it shows quite a bit of SA per chip.

That and heatsinks are all one piece of metal so all the heat compounds. with u Channel theres breaks and air between rows for cooling.

Worked for me just now

Sent from my VS930 4G using Tapatalk 2

Doesn't work for me from my laptop, but from my son's desktop it works and if I VPN into my office computer it works from there,
Strange why it won't work on my laptop on two 3 different browsers.

Oh, gmoney243, was there a method to your led layout. I looked and couldn't seem to figure it out.
I want to do the same setup but on a 55 gallon 48" x 12" x 21 so I don't need as much as you have.and I'm trying to figure out how many led's I need and the layout.

Yeah it seems to work everywhere except my laptop.
I turned off the windows firewall and still nothing.
It's not my network firewall because i can access it from my son's desktop and my wife's laptop.

Mine are just royal blue and white. When i did mine its all they offered. But pretty much i just did 2rb 1cw nxt row was 1 cw 2 rb so they didnt all line up and got decent mix/spread.

2:1 ratio plus colors was a little difficult to layout. Thats why i chose to draw it out first. I just started the colors first and tried to keep the same color spectrums(green/cyan, etc) spaced apart and just used a pencil so i could erase a color placement if it was too close to another of the same.

For example, since i used a green on the front left. I used one on the front right, then to balance out the green. I put one back center. Being cyan is on the same channel, i then reverse the layout of the green to place my cyans.

I tried a V shape with the colors since most of the leds i had 3 of that color. Then reverse the V shape on the other color on that channel.

Once i had all colors placed, i just try and balance the blue vs white and fill in the empty spots.

More or less it was just trial and error until i had what i thought was a evenly balanced layout.

Per request from " thejoshdavis"
Here are some pics of the drivers and the rat nest of connections/wires.

Front view of 4/6 drivers with 6" x 6" plexiglass under them. The other two are under them on a different bracket.

Hard to tell, but the other 2 drivers are here with two peices of angle aluminum attach to keep the drivers from falling.
